Drakona is a quiet, traditional village in the province of Kissamos. It is located 27 km west of Chania and at an altitude of 70 m. The villagers are mainly engaged in agriculture, and their products are oil, grapes, wine, and citrus fruits. The area has an excellent microclimate as the temperature is high all year round (15-30 degrees). Humidity is low due to the area’s low altitude and, combined with the absolute tranquility of the natural environment, makes this village an excellent place to live all year round. Also, 3 km from the village of Drakona is the junction of BOAK (the national highway), offering the possibility of immediate and fast access to the entire Chania prefecture, the airport, the port, and all of Crete. Starting from Kolymvari, one can easily access world-famous attractions such as Balos beach, Gramvousa, Falassarna beach, Elafonisi beach, and the ruins of ancient Diktynna. The Kolymvari area has about 1,500 residents, and there are many services such as a bank, post office, buses, supermarket, pharmacy. You can enjoy the local cuisine at the excellent taverns by the sea, which are famous for their seafood.
